Native American Scenic Byway
Journey through history
The history of the Sioux and other indigenous peoples unfolds along this byway through the cultural, historical and archaeological sites located in the heart of the Sioux nation. Journey through the Crow Creek and Lower Brule Sioux Indian Reservations and view their unique cultures firsthand.
Naturally breathtaking
Buffalo roam on the high plains that form a sharp contrast to the nearby bottomlands, hills and bluffs along the river. Enjoy the beauty of Lake Sharpe and Lake Francis Case. The scenic driving route begins in Chamberlain and Oacoma and cuts through 2 Native American reservations going north to Pierre. The route also follows the Lewis and Clark Trail motor route.
